Skills for Change Coaching was founded by Julia Kelliher in 1995. Skills for Change teaches students and practitioners to locate themselves in their embodied wise adult consciousness, fight internalized oppression, exit the rescue dynamic, communicate cooperatively, analyze power in transactions, and embody change through practice.
Julia brought a somatic embodied approach to change learned from Robert Hall and Richard Strozzi Heckler through Lomi Therapy, together with a pragmatic approach to power studied with Radical Therapist Beth Roy. She added flavors of her pragmatic wisdom as a mother and small business owner, her Buddhist practice with S.N. Goenka, and a fascination with Deep Ecology. Julia certified many coaches, and started a movement, by serving radical wisdom to countless clients and students.
